Bridesmaids!!!

I realized that I haven't posted about my bridal party yet. Since I went with three of my bridesmaids to try on dresses last week I figured now is the best time! I chose five of my best friends even though I wanted a couple more, but Will cut me off at five. He thinks more would be tacky...he may be right. Only because of the logistics of our venue. I want to start off saying that they are all maids of honor because I couldn't choose just one. Here are the lovely ladies (I will go in order of who I met first):

Megan Cantrell-

I met Megan in fourth grade when I transferred over to Cartersville Elementary. It was a huge transition from the county schools, but Megan made it a little easier. I was a strange child, and she was too! She has always been the one who I can be completely weird with and not worry about what everyone else thinks. It started with our little key chain stuffed animals that we carried around with us in fourth grade. We had little backpacks for them and made notebooks for them too. Aaaaaaannnnd we shoved pencils in their arms, so they could "write". In soccer, we came up with our own ways kick and rarely took a drill seriously. Now, she has become the friend I know I can always count on to help keep me down to earth. Anytime I feel like I'm getting superficial I remind myself of her accepting and caring personality or just sit in her presence and be reminded of how I want others to see me.

Haley Barrs-

I also met Haley in fourth grade. We actually met on the nurse's bench faking an illness in hopes of getting to go home (once again...it was a huge transition from county schools). We didn't become close until around middle school when we started playing soccer together (since the nurse's office was the only place we got to see each other in elementary school). Haley has always been my go-to friend. I always thought of her as the sensible one. I always immediately act off of emotions, but she would help me stop and think things through first. Don't get me wrong though, she is just about as silly as Megan and I. She was almost always a part of our shenanigans.

Bryn Johnson-

My fellow Ashlee Simpson wannabe. We've been friends since seventh or eighth grade. Our sophomore and junior years of high school we rocked out to Ashlee Simpson and Story of the year acting like punk rocker chicks. Black and hot pink took over a good bit of our wardrobe. However, we were not skaters or goths. We were straight up posers. Even though we thought we were legit. She has played a huge part in mine and Will's relationship. We were constantly hanging out with Will and his friends the summer right before Will and I started dating. Bryn also helped make my freshman year at Kennesaw bearable. Now, as always she is constantly helping me break out of my shell whether it is socializing with people I normally wouldn't or just getting out of the house!

Rachel Besch-

Where would I be without Rachel??? She helped convince me to transfer to Berry and to join the equestrian team. Both of these are major life changing events that made the past few years of my life amazing! Rachel and I rode at the same barn before I went to Berry, just at different times. Then, right before my sophomore year of college she brought her horse back for the summer. After that, I transferred over to Berry. We lived together for two and a half of the three years I was there. We are pretty much opposites even when it came to our majors, but it seemed to work. I truly don't know what my life would be like without her!

Jennifer Rieger-

Jenn and I met through the equestrian team. We were in the same "group" for team bonding night our first year where dressed crazy and made fools of ourselves in Kmart. Then we got to know each other while pulling manes at barn day. She's like my long lost sister. We're both hopeless romantics, 90's music lovers, and pony lovers (along with Rachel), just to name a few. We were always bus and room buddies for horse shows. She's such a loving person and deserves nothing but the best! I don't know what I'll do when she goes to vet school in Knoxville after May.

Registry: Friend or Foe?

A few thoughts on registering for the wedding.

1. I am so incredibly picky about dishes! It took forever to find dishes I liked. I finally found some, but the reviews were 50/50. I'm taking my chances though. They're too cute.

2. Is fine china really needed? We decided no. I would rather get a full set of nicer dishes than parts of "everyday china" and parts of "fine china" that we will probably only use a handful of times in our entire lives.

3. Bedding. Ugggghhhh. Who knew it would be so hard to agree on bedding?? This one is still undecided.

4. Bed, Bath, and Beyond=lots of fun! Will and I have gone in there twice to look at stuff for our registry. The "Beyond" section is especially fun. We act like the kids people stare at and wonder where their parents are.

5. It's nice to know other people who are getting married. If you have any questions of what to get or how many to get, just look at their registry!

"Kick it in High Gear"

So, I've been REALLY bad about posting on my blog. In my defense, I haven't really had too much to post about though. I did get my dress last month, which is super exciting, but I didn't really know how to post about it without giving too much away. Then I just forgot about it. I can tell you that it was the worst and best experience I've had in awhile. It was the worst experience because my "consultant" would not listen to me. I kept telling her I wanted something different. She kept pulling these cupcake dresses that just weren't me. I decided to change my descriptive words to edgy and something you've never seen before...then it came. The ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life. First off it was super poofy which is ok in some cases, but not this one. Secondly, it had an extremely long train. Not me. Thirdly and the worst offense of this dress, it had pickups all over it. Underneath these pickups were HUGE bows. It was horrible. Terrible. Disgusting. And to top it off the girl kept trying to put a long veil on me. I told her in the very beginning I wanted a birdcage veil.
Thank goodness my friend Rachel had found this gorgeous dress. After consulting with my mom, they decided to show me without the "consultant's" consent. It was perfect. Everything I had hoped for, but nothing I had ever seen! What made this experience incredible is that one of the owner's sold it to me off the rack even though they had just gotten in that week and had waited a year for it to come in. Despite the lack listening abilities of my "consultant", my experience there was incredible because of the fact they let me have that dress!

Now on to the title of this post...Like I said, I haven't had much to post about lately. In other words, I haven't been doing any wedding planning at all except for the occasional registry research. So, now I am scrambling to get things done. One thing after another, I feel like there's no end in sight. It is time to kick it in high gear! This is how I do everything though. I can't get anything accomplished unless I'm pressed for time. Otherwise, I'll only put half of my effort in it and change it all around in the end anyway. So expect frequent posts from now on!....like probably one right after this one just to catch up!
